| Are You in The Race for Eternal Life? | |||||||||||||||||||||
| Return to Home Page | |||||||||||||||||||||
| To win a race, there must be pit stops. There are four stops along the way to Victory in the Race of Life: | |||||||||||||||||||||
| First Stop: Hope | |||||||||||||||||||||
| Because of sin, it is impossible to finish the race on your own! Romans 3:23 says,"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." But, God gives us hope !! "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ, our Lord" (Romans 6:23). | |||||||||||||||||||||
| Second Stop: Change | |||||||||||||||||||||
| To win in racing, changes must be made on the car during the race. It's the same in the race of life. You may feel it is impossible to change, but "the goodness of God leads you to repentance (change)" (Romans 2:4). This means that God wants to change the direction of your life for the better--if you will allow Him! | |||||||||||||||||||||
| Third Stop: Love | |||||||||||||||||||||
| A crew chief is seldom satisfied with the car, but his love for the sport and his commitment to his team and driver keep him working to win. Though God is not pleased with your sin, His love for you caused Him to send His only Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for your sins. "But God proved His love for you in that while you were still a sinner, Christ died for you" (Romans 5:8). | |||||||||||||||||||||
| Fourth Stop: Commitment | |||||||||||||||||||||
| To win, a driver must have a commitment to his crew chief. To win the race of life, you must make a commitment to Jesus, who already has proven His commitment to you. The Bible promises that "if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. . . . For whoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved" (Romans 10:9, 13) If it is your desire to be victorious in the race of life, make Jesus your "Crew Chief." Simply ask Jesus to come into your life. Need help praying? How about sincerely saying this prayer to receive Jesus as your Savior and Crew Chief: "Dear Lord, today, I, ___________________, ask that you forgive me and take away my sins. By Your lovingkindness, enter my life and lead me along the path of faith in the race of life. Amen."
